A reporter at Charleston, West Virginia ABC affiliate WCHS says someone fired several shots at him while covering a story Saturday. The gunfire happened as reporter Sean Delancey was preparing to interview a woman about a different shooting that had happened in the area the previous night. In the video aired on WCHS Saturday, the sound of three apparent gunshots can be heard:
Delancey said he could make out three or four young men in the distance who then fled the scene, but said he could not see who was holding the gun.
“When I heard the first shot, my whole body went stiff. It was only when I got behind the car you realized how close it was because you could hear that zip,” said Delancey.
