WCBS has tapped veteran anchor Maurice DuBois to succeed Chris Wragge, who is leaving the station to become co-host of “The Early Show.” DuBois will join Kristine Johnson behind the anchor desk of the 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts. DuBois joined WCBS in 2004 and has most recently been the anchor of the station’s morning newscast.

Now that DuBois has assumed the marquee anchor position at WCBS, he is well-positioned to pursue exciting opportunities in the future. Like Wragge, DuBois has a lot of experience substituting on network newscasts. During his time with WCBS, DuBois has anchored weekend editions of “The CBS Evening News” and “The Early Show.”
DuBois is a Long Island native and has spent the last 13 years on New York TV, first with WNBC and then with WCBS. “I am a home town kid. I grew up here, my parents still live here,” DuBois told Gothamist in a recent interview. “There is nothing like working in your home town.”
