WCBS Spots Former New York Met Directing Traffic Following Snowstorm

New York area residents saw their fair share of eyebrow-raising sights this morning as they struggled to commute to work.

Perhaps stranger, although not by much, than the image of Katie Couric helping Barry Diller with his stuck Maserati in Central Park, is the sight of former New York Mets player and manager Bobby Valentine directing traffic in Stamford, CT.

WCBS reporter Wendy Gillette was covering gridlocked traffic along I-95 when she spotted Valentine at an intersection nearby.

“I’ve been doing this since 3 in the morning,” the former Met told Gillette.  Apparently, Valentine is an official safety director for the city. Video after the jump…
