WCBS Hires Two Ahead of WLNY Acquisition

By Merrill Knox

Viewers of WCBS, the CBS O&O in New York, will see some new faces in the coming weeks.

The station has hired Carolyn Gusoff (pictured) to its Long Island bureau, the New York Daily News reports. Gusoff joins WCBS from rival WNYW, where she has worked since 2009.

WCBS will also move morning reporter Katie McGee to evenings, where she will be focused on entertainment. McGee will be replaced in the mornings by Alex Denis, who joined WCBS from WZTV in Nashville two weeks ago.

The Daily News reports the changes are likely part of the station’s preparations to acquire Long Island-based WLNY, which is currently pending FCC approval.
