Reporter Justin Pizzi is leaving WCAU, the NBC O&O in Philadelphia, after the station declined to renew his contract.
“We wish Justin the best,” an NBC spokesperson told the Philadelphia Daily News.
The Daily News reports Pizzi has been disciplined twice this year for Twitter usage — once for prematurely reporting news of Joe Paterno’s death and once for Tweeting about Jennifer Lopez‘s alleged wardrobe malfunction at the Oscars. His WCAU Twitter account has been deactivated.

Prior to joining WCAU eight years ago, Pizzi worked as a reporter for WBRE in Wilkes-Barre and WBNG in Binghamton.
