WBRZ Photographer Rescues Crash Victim

By Kevin Eck

A WBRZ photographer rescued a pregnant woman from a burning car this morning.

Patrick Perry, a photographer for the Baton Rouge, La., ABC affiliate and reporter Brittany Weiss were driving behind a 21-year-old pregnant woman when she drove off the road and hit some trees. Her car caught fire right after.

Telling the woman to “hold on tight” Perry pulled her out of the car and set her down on the side of the road. Click here to watch the video.

“You cover stories like this but rarely witness a hero first hand,” Weiss wrote on Facebook.

The unidentified driver was taken to the hospital. She appeared confused, but otherwise not severely injured on the side of the road. Specific, updated information on her medical condition has not been released.
