Twenty years after the death of Jerry Garcia and 50 years after the founding of the Grateful Dead, San Francisco Bay Area CBS-owned station dug up an interview it did with the jam band frontman in 1988.
In an interview which never aired, Former KPIX anchor Kate Kelly got Garcia to talk about the band and how he wanted to be remembered.
Said Garcia, “I guess I would want to be known as the guy who had a pretty good time while he was here…you can go at any moment so you might as well crowd as much possible into your life.”
