WABC Live Truck Flips Over on Icy New Jersey Turnpike

A live truck belonging to WABC, the ABC owned-and-operated station in New York City, flipped over on the icy New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday morning.

“The accident was most likely caused by black ice,” WABC anchor Lori Stokes said. “All three of our colleagues fortunately were wearing their seat belts.”

New Jersey rescue personnel were able to get the WABC employees out of the vehicle. All three were taken to nearby Meadowlands Hospital, where they were treated and released. “It was scary for them,” Stokes said.
