WABC Debuts New Street-Level Studio

By Andrew Gauthier

WABC debuted a new, street-level studio over the weekend with large windows linking it to the sidewalks of Manhattan’s upper west side.

“We’ve got windows here in the studio,” anchor Sandra Bookman said during the station’s evening newscast on Saturday, introducing the new space. “If you’re in the area and want to come on by and see the newscast and say ‘hello,’ come on by.”

The studio’s corner location previously housed a Disney store and is just down the block from WABC’s previous on-air home.

The ABC O&O is getting a jump on its rivals with the launch, as WNBC, WCBS, and WPIX are all expected to unveil new studios in the coming months.
