One of Atlanta’s most beloved TV personalities of the 1970s and early ’80s, Virginia Gunn, has died.

Gunn was a weathercaster and host of PM Magazine at WAGA. She left the business in 1982 and moved to Georgia’s St. Simons Island with her husband, the best-selling author William Diehl, who died in 2006.

Gunn, who was 66, died Monday after a short illness. “She was given the option of treatment but chose hospice instead,” a friend told the Florida Times-Union. This retrospective aired on PM Magazine when Gunn left the show in 1982.
