Veteran Cincinnati Anchor Heads to Raleigh

Brad Johansen is the former voice of the Cincinnati Bengals and known news personality in the market. He’s been part of the WKRC team since 1992 in a variety of roles including news reporter-anchor.

In 2018 he’s leaving Ohio for Raleigh, N.C., as WRAL‘s newest anchor-reporter.

“Brad is a great addition to our outstanding and experienced team of evening news anchors,” said WRAL news director Rick Gall.

Johansen shifted from sports to news in 2014. He’s won 21 Emmys for his work at WKRC. He previously worked in Las Vegas, San Luis Obispo, Lansing and Peoria.

“Excited for what’s ahead,” Johansen tweeted. He starts at the Capitol Broadcasting-owned station April 12.
