Vanessa Welch is joining Cox Media Group’s Boston Fox affiliate WFXT as an evening co-anchor.
Starting Tuesday, Dec. 1, Welch will co-anchor the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. news along with Mark Ockerbloom.
This is a move within Cox Media Group, since she comes from WFTV in Orlando, where she was an anchor and reporter for nearly nine years.

“Vanessa is a strong journalist who has a track record of making a difference in the community,” said WFXT vp and gm Tom Raponi. “We are looking forward to her joining the FOX25 News Team and being a trusted source for Boston viewers.”
She’s also worked in West Texas and Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
