Salt Lake City Univision affiliate KUTH has started broadcasting local newscasts again.

The two half hour “Noticias 32 Salt Lake” shows air weeknights at 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

“With the launch of ‘Noticias 32 Salt Lake City,’ we are responding to the great appetite the fastest growing community has for consuming local news,” Luis Fernandez-Rocha, senior vice president and general manager of Univision Salt Lake City told HispanicAd.com. “Univision 32 Salt Lake City remains committed to informing the Hispanic community with news of importance to them and we are thrilled to be able to extend our efforts with expanded coverage on a daily basis.”

The news is anchored by news director Irene Caso (pictured left) and features multimedia journalist Viviane Quintela (pictured right). The station uses Univision network’s meteorologist Gloria Carmona for weather updates.

According to Media Moves, KUTH stopped airing a newscast when Univision took over the station in 2008.

Caso started her career at KUTH. She moved to Little Rock, AR, where she anchored a hubbed newscast for several Univision stations. Most recently, she was anchor and producer of “Noticias MundoFOX 23.” Quintela is host of the station’s community affairs program “Enlace Semanal.”
