Univision announced the appointment of Carlos San Jose as vice president and general manager of its Chicago-area stations today.

San Jose will take over operations at Chicago’s Univision station WGBO. He will also be at the helm of another Chicago-area Univision station, WFXT, that focuses on entertainment programming. San Jose, who began his career in radio, has worked for more than two decades in the Spanish-language media market.

“We are thrilled to have a veteran media executive with over 25 years experience in both Spanish- and English-language radio and television on board,” said Ramon Pineda, senior vice president and regional director of Univision.
