Toni Miles is joining WXXV, the Fox affiliate in Gulfport, Miss., the Sun Herald reports. She joins the station as an assignment editor but will be reporting and filling in on the anchor desk.
Miles is a former reporter for rival WLOX, the CBS and ABC affiliate. She is returning to television after a hiatus from journalism to focus on her independent film career, according to the Sun Herald.
“As a journalist you have a fire in your belly. If you don’t love this job, there’s no way you can do it. It’s just one of those things you can’t shake,” Miles said. “It always comes back to me no matter what happens.”
