WBAY news director Tom McCarey will retire from the Green Bay ABC affiliate next year.
“It has been a privilege and an honor to be part of the great tradition at WBAY-TV. Working for a legacy station like WBAY-TV brings great advantages, but great responsibilities as well. I hope I have lived up to those responsibilities,” McCarey wrote in a note to WBAY obtained by TVSpy. “I’ve been fortunate to work with so many great people since I took that part time production job here in 1965; so many in fact that it would be a disservice to mention even a few for fear of leaving out some deserving co-workers.”
McCarey will officially sign off from the Young Broadcasting (soon, Media General) station in January.
