lorennancarrow_croppedThe San Diego City Council has proclaimed January 28, 2014 to be “Loren Nancarrow Day.”

Nancarrow, a former anchor for San Diego FOX affiliate KSWB, died December 28 after battling cancer for almost a year.

“He advocated for the environment long before it was fashionable and taught a generation of television viewers and readers to be good stewards of our land, sea, and air,” said Councilwoman and former KGTV reporter Marti Emerald as part of her tribute to Nancarrow’s 30-year career in San Diego.

His family has set up a donation fund to help pay for a new rooftop healing garden at Scripps Radiation Therapy Center in San Diego. Click here more info.
