The perils of weather reporting were on full display in Grand Rapids yesterday during Rick Mecklenburg’s live weather report, which was interrupted by a gust of wind that blew the WXMI chief meteorologist’s chair to the ground.
Mecklenburg made it through most of his report (in which he had to inform viewers of possible snow in the area this weekend) before abruptly falling out of his chair. “Sorry about that! The wind just blew me over,” Mecklenberg said through his laughter. “We’re gonna throw it back to you guys.”
