KHOU‘s assistant news director was vacationing in Hawaii when a statewide alert about a pending missile strike was sent out.

Josh Hubbard was rounding out a week long trip when the emergency warning came up on his phone followed by an announcement was made over the loudspeaker to move to the basement.

“Well what a way to end the week in Hawaii. Glad this was a false alarm, but it’s pretty scary when your hotel tells you to go to the basement,” Hubbard said in a Facebook post.
