Today’s Throw Back Thursday comes from the collected wisdom of those who have made it to the top in medialand.

Al Roker, Christiane Amanpour, Dr. Oz, Lou Dobbs, Erin Burnett, Jerry Springer and Larry King all give their best advice on how to make it in the business.

Work hard. Be willing to do whatever it takes and if you’re good, you’ll get noticed. Said Larry King, “There’s no great talent not being found, sitting in Biloxi, Mississippi.”

Check out the picture to the right of Amanpour in this video. It should tell you all you really need to know. In it, Amanpour is holding the boom for CBS reporter Bob Simon. She was already famous at the time and working for CNN.
