Tampa Reporter Heads to Greenville

WNCT, the Nexstar owned CBS affiliate in Greenville, North Carolina, has hired a new evening anchor. She comes from Tampa.

Shayla Reaves will co anchor the station’s 5, 6 and 11pm newscasts starting November 16.

She joins local news veteran Ken Waitling and chief meteorologist Jerry Jackson.

“Shayla is an exceptional journalist who is deeply dedicated to giving back to the local communities she serves. As an award-winning storyteller, her captivating way of communicating allows her to really connect with audiences,” said news director Bernie Ritter.

Reaves comes from the Tampa Fox affiliate. She previously worked in Columbus, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky.

She earned her degree from the prestigious Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism.
