Sylvia Perez No Longer with WLS

TVSpy has confirmed 11:00am anchor Sylvia Perez is no longer with WLS.

Perez had been with the ABC owned Chicago station for 24 years.  She was the co-anchor of the 11:00am news and the station’s medical reporter.

Last week, the station announced it was dropping the 11:00am show and replacing it with “Windy City LIVE,” a locally produced show. The move was spurred by WLS’ acquisition of “Live with Michael and Kelly,” which will air at 9:00am.

According to Chicagoland Radio and Media, Perez was not going to have her contract renewed in September. She has not been on-air since Thursday. Her former 11:00am co-anchor, Linda Yu, will continue to anchor the 4:00pm news.

Perez started at WLS in 1989.  Before coming to WLS, she worked in Houston and Amarillo, TX, Denver, and Lawton, OK.
