Austin NBC affiliate KXAN went dark Saturday night after a storm knocked out the stations main and backup power.
The station was forced to cancel its 10:00 pm. newscast after the station took a power hit. The signal went out while NBC was airing the NHL playoff game between the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
CW affiliate KNVA and MyNetworkTv affiliate KBVO also went off air, since they share a studio with KNVA.

By morning, when a facebook commenter asked if they had generators, KXAN replied, “From the notes I read this morning, they may have been hit too. Luckily our guys worked hard overnight and got everything going so we can be on the air today. – Dave”
