Steve Hensley has been named news director for Hazard, KY, CBS affiliate WYMT.

“I’m truly honored to be the news director at the station in my hometown. WYMT is a special place and I hope to continue the tradition of excellence demanded by those before me in this position like Tony Turner and Neil Middleton,” Hensley told TVSpy. “I’m looking forward to the challenges and exciting times ahead.”

Hensley, who was named assistant news director in June of last year, replaces Neil Middleton who had been serving in a dual role as general manager and news director.

As part of his news director role, Hensley will continue to anchor the 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. shows. His last 11:00 p.m. newscast was Saturday.
