The Dallas Morning News reports KTVT and KTXA sports reporter Steve Dennis is out at the Dallas CBS owned stations.
The Morning News said management at the station told Dennis Thursday he was “no longer needed” after 16 years.
“I’m looking for work,” Dennis said Friday. “The Cowboys season is bearing down on us and I have to be there.”
AdvertisementDennis, 53, said station management told him, “We love you but we are doing away with your position.”
Gary Schneider, general manager at channels 11 and 21, confirmed, “there was no issue with his performance.”
Schneider said the stations would be cutting back on sports programming, particularly at Channel 21.
