Last week, in the heart of February sweeps, St. Petersburg’s WTSP debuted a new, twice-weekly commentary segment featuring radio shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge.
The new series, titled “Bring It On Bubba,” premiered during the CBS-affiliate’s 11 p.m. newscast.

Dressed in a black baseball cap and sunglasses, Bubba railed on “the idiot up in the governor’s mansion” during the debut segment last Wednesday. “This guy is about as qualified to run our state as I am the FCC.”
“Entertaining as Clem is,” Eric Deggans of the St. Petersburg Times pointed out, “WTSP probably has people on staff who could offer a more insightful or revealing analysis.”
