Springfield’s WGGB Hires Local Radio Hosts to Anchor Morning Newscast

Springfield’s WGGB is revamping its morning show, bringing in two local radio hosts to anchor the newscast, the station announced today.

Dan Williams and Kim Zachary, a husband-and-wife team who have been anchoring together on Springfield local radio since 1995, will take over at the anchor desk on April 23. The pair’s radio contracts were not renewed by Clear Channel Communications earlier this year.

“Whether it’s helping plan a viewer’s day or getting their kids out the door, Dan and Kim will be leading the way,” Joe Gormally, owner of WGGB parent company Gormally Broadcasting, said in a statement.

Williams and Zachary will take over for Julia Dunn and Nathan O’Leary, who will transition into other roles at the station. Dunn will continue to anchor the 4:30 a.m. newscast and the news segments during the morning show, while O’Leary will transition into a reporting role.
