Sports anchor Nick Coit is leaving WABI, the CBS affiliate in Bangor, when his contract expires this week. The Bangor Daily News has details:
Coit’s two-year contract expires Thursday and there were contract discussions but, he said, “it is in my best interest to make the jump.
“I love this job. I love the people up here. It has been awesome,” said Coit, who turns 25 on December 23. “But it’s time to take the next step. I’m young and I have big goals. And I don’t have a personal connection here.”
AdvertisementHe said he doesn’t have another job lined up as yet, but he wants to continue as a television sports anchor-reporter. “I’ve had a couple of opportunities come my way but they haven’t been what I’m looking for,” said Coit, a native of Plymouth, Mass. “I want to keep moving up. I’d like to find a job in a mid-major market. Not a big city but a bigger place (than Bangor).”
