South Bend Anchor to Return After Surgery, Credits New Friend

WBND anchor Brian Dorman (pictured right) says he’ll be back on-air tonight after recovering from vocal cord surgery.

Dorman told viewers about his vocal cord problems in August. At the time he said he wouldn’t need surgery, but went under the knife in October.

“I’ll have to take it easy to start, I won’t be able to anchor all the shows just yet,” he told viewers on his Facebook page. “I will see you at 5:30, 10 & 11.”

He also took the time to credit his new friend Michael Estime (left), who is the morning meteorologist at WTVQ in Lexington, Ky., and had surgery in June.

“He had surgery a couple months before I did and guided me through the process, shared advice and told me what to expect,” said Dorman. “He is a great guy and a very talented meteorologist. Lucky to have made a friend in this ordeal who understood what I was going through!”
