Sharon Reed Heading to Atlanta

By Kevin Eck

Sharon Reed is leaving Meredith-owned KMOV to work at sister station WGCL in Atlanta.

Reed has worked at KMOV since October 2012. Before that she worked at WOIO in Cleveland. The move was first speculated about by FTVlive in March.

“News 4 is hands down the best place I’ve ever worked,” said Reed in a goodbye on KMOV’s website. “Smart, engaging journalists, but most important to me, the good people who work here are my friends.”

In announcing Reed’s departure from the station, Brian Thouvenot, KMOV News Director said, “Sharon delivered News 4’s Watching Out for You brand with the utmost integrity, professionalism and passion. We’re surely going to miss her at KMOV, but glad to see her staying within the Meredith family at CBS in Atlanta. Viewers in Atlanta are getting one of the most impactful and hard-working journalist in the industry today.”

During her time at Channel 4, Sharon lent her talents to award-winning newscasts at 5, 6 and 10 p.m., spearheading our #EndViolenceStL, spending countless hours with many of KMOV Cares community partners.

Her last day at KMOV is tomorrow. She starts at WGCL in early June.
