Shannon Brinias Leaving Colorado Springs for Anchor Job in Sacramento

Shannon Brinias is leaving Colorado Springs CBS-affiliate KKTV for a job at CBS O&O KOVR in Sacramento.

“Change is inevitable,” Brinias told viewers in a video posted on her Facebook page, announcing her departure. “When you get tapped on the shoulder for a new opportunity, sometimes you have to take it.”

Brinias joined KKTV in 2006 and co-anchored the station’s 5:30 and 10 p.m. newscasts. She will be a main anchor at KOVR.

“It’s a great opportunity for her,” KKTV general manager Nick Matesi told The Gazette recently. “It’s not very often you get a main anchor position in a top 20 market, so I don’t blame her one bit for taking the opportunity.”
