‘Saturday Night Live’ Makes Fun of St. Louis Morning Newscasts

By Aneya Fernando

Yesterday morning, “Saturday Night Live” uploaded this biting sketch on the media’s reaction to the situation in Ferguson. It was unfortunately cut for time during the live broadcast, but it’s well worth a watch.

In the skit, Cecily Strong and Keenan Thompson play the reluctant hosts of St. Louis’ happiest morning talk show, “Rise and Smile.” The two are trying desperately to avoid their normally chipper (and silly) antics in light of the protests. It doesn’t go well.

James Franco also makes an appearance as a chef named ‘Darrel Wilson’, who at one point asks, “Who am I to argue with the grand jury?”
