San Diego Viewers Respond to Story About Man Robbed of His Savings

By Kevin Eck

Tuesday, San Diego CBS affiliate KFMB ran a story about a local gardener who was robbed of thousands of dollars he had been saving to buy a car.

A couple who saw the story responded by giving the man the amount he had stolen from him. “We saw that story and it just irked me, especially because he was so victimized,” one of the viewers told KFMB. “He saved all this money for his car, it was such a sad story.”

The couple, who want to remain anonymous, contacted KFMB. The station put them in touch with a woman who owns the building where the man works. They sent her a check for the full $3,000.

According to the station, she’ll cash the check and give the money to the gardener.

“Even if you give your time, your talent or your treasures, if you just took those things that we have and bless others with our time,” said one of the viewers. “It’s a difference maker.”
