Sam Rubin Gets Apology, Cupcakes From People Behind Ben Affleck Film

By Kevin Eck

KTLA entertainment reporter Sam Rubin was so miffed about his treatment during an interview junket for the new Ben Affleck film The Accountant that he vowed never mention the movie again unless someone from the studio apologized. Rubin also requested Sprinkles cupcakes to be delivered by TV personality Brooke Burns, wife of the movie’s director Gavin O’Connor.

So this morning, Burns came to KTLA bearing conciliatory cupcakes to make peace with the once annoyed reporter.

“I am not in the business of trying to embarrass people or get them fired,” Rubin posted to Facebook. “Which is why I made a very deliberate effort to keep the behind-the-scenes names out of this. But I think lessons have been learned, and for that, (and the cupcakes), I am glad I brought to this up for wider attention.

Rubin says during the junket he was censored during his Affleck interview.
