KCRA reporter Mike Luery and photographer John Breedlove were attacked while covering a protest involving nearly 150 anti-fascists and 30 white supremacists at the State Capitol.
Luery said he was pushed to the ground and had his iPhone and his reporter’s notebook stolen as the two groups clashed. Protestors also took his mic, though he grabbed that back.
The Sacramento NBC affiliate reporter said he has covered a lot of protests, but this is the most violent he’s been involved in.

KCRA reports nine men and one woman suffered injuries ranging from stab wounds to lacerations during a fight between the two groups during the protest.
