Rosanna Scotto Celebrates 25 Years with WNYW

Rosanna Scotto is celebrating 25 years with WNYW this week and she says the key to her longevity has been not thinking about it too much and instead focussing on the day-to-day task of covering the news.

“Despite the changes to the business over the years, I kind of kept my head down and kept my focus on trying to get the big story of the day,” Scotto told FishbowlNY in a recent interview. “I think that’s not only how I survived, but thrived.”

During her 25 years with the Fox O&O, Scotto has bounced around in the schedule, anchoring WNYW’s 10 p.m. newscast beginning in the 90s and eventually moving to the morning show alongside Greg Kelly in 2008. She says that anchoring the morning newscast is still a challenge.

“I don’t feel like 100 percent comfortable in doing this format,” Scotto admits. “This is unscripted, throw in your opinion on things that you won’t get in trouble with, and you have to know a lot about pop culture.” Read more at FishbowlNY
