Retired Negotiator Talks Man Down from KOKI Broadcast Tower After Nearly a Week

By Merrill Knox

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. last night, William Sturdivant II — who spent six days perched on top of a broadcast tower belonging to Tulsa Fox affiliate KOKI — was safely lowered to the ground by Tulsa rescue personnel (watch above).

Sturdivant was coaxed to come down by retired Tulsa police negotiator Tyrone Lynn, who spent seven hours yesterday talking to Sturdivant. Once he was safely to the ground, Sturdivant was immediately placed on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital to be treated. His condition is listed as stable.
