Reporter Chris Hawes Leaves WFAA in Dallas

WFAA reporter Chris Hawes has left the Dallas ABC-affiliate for a communications manager position for a local hospital, Uncle Barky’s Bytes reports.

“As a reporter, some of the stories that have touched me most have been those of doctors, nurses, and patients fighting together against incredible odds, and winning,” Hawes wrote on Facebook. “It will be an honor to join that world, and ensure their stories continue to be told.”

Hawes joined WFAA in 2006 as a general assignment reporter. Station spokesman Dave Muscari told Uncle Barky’s Bytes that Hawes is leaving on very good terms, calling the move a “simple lifestyle choice.”

As for Hawes’ replacement, reporter Marcus Moore is leaving KMBC in Kansas City for WFAA. He is expected to start in early January.
