Raycom Promotes News Director to GM of Savannah Station

Larry Silbermann has been named vp and gm of Raycom Media’s Savannah, Ga., station WTOC.

Silbermann, who is news director at the CBS affiliate, replaces Scott Dempsey who was named gm of Raycom’s Charlotte, N.C., station WBTV.

“Larry is a leader,” said Raycom Media Group vp Don Richards. “He has proven to be a leader in the news room as a News Director at the local level and at the corporate level as a Regional News Director for Raycom Media. I am especially excited to see this continued evolution of Larry’s career as he takes on a new challenge. I look forward to watching WTOC and Larry’s continued success in Savannah.”

Six years ago, he was named regional news director for Raycom Media and worked with WBTV, WIS in Columbia, WCSC in Charleston as well as other stations in the Carolinas and Georgia. He started his career at WKRC in Cincinnati, and has held management jobs at WHAS in Louisville, Ky., WDSU in New Orleans, and KGW in Portland, Ore.
