A. Daniel Cates has been named vp and GM of Raycom’s WCSC in Charleston, S.C.
He comes to the CBS affiliate from Johnson City, Tenn. station WJHL.
“Dan has an exemplary background in audience development in both broadcast and digital platforms,” said Don Richards, vp of Raycom Media Group. “He is also well versed in coastal markets having spent a great deal of his career along the Gulf Coast.”

He started his career as a reporter in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He was director of digital content at Media General’s WSPA before being named GM of WJHL in August 2012.
