Tommy Leinbach has been added to Fox-owned station KTBC as a soon-to-be service dog.

Leinbach will be trained to be a service dog for Patriot Paws by eight KTBC staffers. Patriot Paws provides service dogs to disabled veterans.

The puppy will be living and getting trained by the eight staffers on a rotating basis. After KTBC, Leinbach will go to a Texas prison where an inmate will continue his training.

The puppy is sponsored by the Leinbach company and was named the founder’s Uncle who died in World War Two.

“We have 120 veterans on our waiting list and they’re asking for help, things that you and I take for granted each and every day,” said Patriot Paws founder Lori Stevens. “Opening and closing doors, pickup dropped items, having a good night’s sleep are the things that these veterans want. They want to get away from the medication, the pills, and just get something that can be with them 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
