Pittsburgh Reporter’s Interview With Trump, Jr. Cut Off After Questions About Charity Spending

Donald Trump, Jr.’s handlers didn’t like WTAE reporter Bob Mayo‘s question about how senior Trump’s charity foundation is spending its money.

Mayo asked Trump’s son about a Washington Post story saying the Donald J. Trump Foundation spent $20,000 for a six-foot-tall portrait of the Republican presidential candidate in 2007. That’s when an aide stepped in and stopped the interview.

“You’re a director of the Trump Foundation charity, did you sign off on charity money for a portrait?” asked Pittsburgh ABC affiliate reporter Bob Mayo.

“No, I don’t know anything about that,” said Trump, Jr.

“So how come you didn’t know—,” asked Mayo.

“All right, that’s it,” said a voice off camera. “We have to move on to the next one.”
