Philadelphia Man Gets Jail for Shining Laser at News Chopper

By Kevin Eck

A Philadelphia man will see jailtime for shining a laser beam at the KYW news chopper last year.

Daniel F. Dangler will serve three months in jail, followed by seven months of home confinement and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to pointing the laser at Chopper 3 HD.

The chopper for the CBS owned station captured video of the incident when it happened last July while flying over Northeast Philadelphia on a story. At the time, the FBI joined the Philadelphia police department in the search for the suspect, which turned out to be Dangler. You can see video of the incident after the jump.
