Joyce Evans, the weekend anchor for Philadelphia FOX owned station WTXF, tried to promote her 10:00 p.m. show last night by sending a tweet many thought was in bad taste.
In her tweet, Evans compared a shooting in South Philadelphia that killed one person and injured five others to the finale of AMC Networks’ hit show Breaking Bad.

She also tried to turn the phrase on facebook saying, “Y’all “Broke Bad” with me last week, I forgive you But come on back home Tonight FOX 29 at Ten. Breakin’ Bad in S.W. 6 people hit in a SHOOTOUT!”
The twitter universe was quick to show its disapproval, some used direct criticism, some tried sarcasm:

Then there were tweets like this one:
“Thought The Sixth Sense had a shocking ending? Well a boy in SW Philly is seein’ 30 dead people of his own! Tonite at 10” #JoyceEvansTweets — Drew Magary (@drewmagary) October 7, 2013
Evans tried to explain later saying, “Not a joke . Miss my point Very real life. not tv ending”
