Paulina Sodi Joins Telemundo Houston

Paulina Sodi is joining KTMD, the Telemundo station in Houston, as the co-anchor of the 5 and 10 p.m. weekday newscasts.

“We are very excited to welcome Paulina Sodi to Houston, as a key member of our growing ‘Noticiero Telemundo Houston’ team,” KTMD president and general manager Tony Canales said in a statement. “We anticipate incorporating Paulina’s extensive television news experience, as well as her strong journalistic background, in all of our news platforms.”

Sodi joins the station from TV Azteca in Mexico City, where she has worked in a variety of roles since 2001. Most recently, she anchored and produced documentaries and special investigative stories.

HOUSTON — August 26, 2013 — Telemundo Houston- KTMD-TV today announced that Paulina Sodi has been named News Anchor for “Noticiero Telemundo Houston,” effective immediately. In her new role, Sodi will co-anchor the 5pm and 10pm weekday newscasts along with Martin Berlanga.

“I am happy to join the Telemundo family,” said Sodi.  “I look forward to contributing to ‘Noticiero Telemundo Houston’ and providing our viewers not only with the news stories of the day, but also in-depth coverage of social and community topics that impact their lives.”

Prior to joining Telemundo Houston, Sodi served as anchor for TV Azteca’s “Proyecto 40” in Mexico City, where she worked for the national television network as news anchor and contributed to the development and production of documentaries and special investigative stories for seven years.  During this time, Sodi also displayed her journalistic talents on both radio and print, having anchored at Radio 13 Noticias and Grupo Imagen Radio, while also writing for Diario La Razon, Reforma and El Universal newspapers.  She also held various roles at TV Azteca since 2001.

Sodi received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the Intercontinental University of Mexico in Mexico City.  She has been honored with a Golden Mike award by the Mexican Radio and Television National Association and an Excelsis award from the Global Quality Foundation’s, Mexican chapter.
