ONN meteorologist Harrison Hove is now reporting from Antarctica.
Hove applied for and received a grant from the National Science Foundation to travel to Antarctica and report on a group of Ohians who are currently doing research there.
After a long journey that included a pair of earthquakes in New Zealand, Hove arrived in Antarctica over the weekend and is now reporting live for ONN via Skype, in addition to shooting video and keeping a blog on the regional cable news channel’s website.
“Once we landed, I could not believe it when I walked out of the plane into a bright, open land of emptiness,” Hove wrote in a blog post after landing in Antarctica. “It was gorgeous and so pristine. It is white are far as you can see. We actually landed on a glacier.”
