On the Heels of Frank Mitchell’s Retirement, KTUL Shakes Up Weather Team

By Merrill Knox

On Frank Mitchell’s last day as chief meteorologist, KTUL has announced some changes to its team of weathercasters.

Andrew Kozak (pictured left), who has been freelancing for the Tulsa ABC affiliate, has been named KTUL’s morning meteorologist. He replaces Mike Collier (pictured right), who is moving to weekend evenings.

“It’s time to throw away the alarm clock,” Collier wrote on Facebook. “You are in great hands with Meteorologist Andrew Kozak!”

No word yet on how the new schedule will affect Jennifer Zeppelin, who is the current weekend evening meteorologist. In a statement, KTUL said a new chief meteorologist “will be named later this month.” The station has yet to respond to TVSpy’s request for comment.
