Omaha Anchor Back After Spending More Time With Family

Julie Cornell is back at Omaha ABC affiliate KETV.

She’ll join Rob McCartney on the 6 and 10 p.m. anchor desk. She replaces Brandi Petersen who is leaving the station to work at a local school district.

“Julie brings an amazing level of local experience to our newscasts,” said news director Rose Ann Shannon. “We’re proud we could bring one of Omaha’s favorite anchor teams back together.”

She reduced her hours at KETV eight years ago to spend more time with her family.

“Working part-time for KETV for the past eight years offered us a ton of flexibility as a family, allowing me to play a huge role in our kids’ activities, classrooms and sports,” Julie said. “Our children are teens now and much more independent.”
