No Charges for Bakersfield Anchor Arrested for Spousal Battery

KBAK anchor Kurt Rivera will not be charged after being arrested last Sunday on spousal battery charges.

Bakersfield ABC affiliate KERO reports the district attorney’s office said there was insufficient evidence and couldn’t figure out whether the CBS affiliate’s anchor or his girlfriend, who was also arrested, were the primary aggressor.

Officials said that at about 10:18 p.m. Kern County sheriff’s deputies were sent to an alarm call of a woman screaming she was being assaulted at a home in the 2700 block of Loma Alta in east Bakersfield.

Deputies said they found 50-year-old Kurt Rivera and 36-year-old Mindy Morrow inside the residence.

Deputies were able to determine that Rivera and Morrow resided together at the home and were involved in a domestic disturbance.
