Niki Weirich Joins KXRM Anchor Desk

KXRM in Colorado Springs is adding anchor Niki Weirich to its 6:30 and 9 p.m. newscasts.

Weirich, who comes to the Fox-affiliate from WYTV in Youngstown, OH, will join veteran Joe Cole at the anchor desk.

Cole, who is also the station’s VP of news, has been anchoring the newscasts solo since the departure of Stephanie Pytlinski last year and is looking forward to having some company.

“I think she will make a wonderful addition to FOX21 and I’m thrilled to have a co-anchor again,” Cole told The Gazette of Colorado Springs.

Weirich, a graduate of Kent State University, has been with WYTV since 2008.  Most recently, she co-anchored the ABC-affiliate’s 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts.
